About Me

Victoria Lamb

Speech Language Pathologist

I am a practicing Speech Language Pathologist, mother to three beautiful daughters, a gardener, camping enthusiast  and lover of all things outdoors. I also think play is essential in our lives. Whether we are adults or children. However, children learn from their play experiences so I value using play in my therapy sessions.

I began my professional career as a therapeutic Recreation Specialist.  It was during this time that I truly learned to appreciate the importance of play in our lives.  After completing my graduate studies I was able to incorporate play into my speech sessions as a means to engage my patients and students.

In addition, I have always been someone that is reflective of my experiences both personally and professionally.  I consider myself a lifelong learner.  One of my biggest challenges has been navigating the world as a parent of a special needs child.  My youngest daughter has blessed me with so many opportunities to walk in the shoes of both a parent and therapist.  I can honestly say that my role as her mother has shaped my professional skills as a Speech Language Pathologist. It is my empathy for the journey parents are on as they wander down all the confusing paths from medical, to school, post secondary experiences that drives how I deliver my service.

By far the biggest asset I believe I possess is a passion to assist others with communication.  I take my passion to the point of assisting with advocacy for the voices that can not always be understood but should be heard.
